Korean Fire Protection Association was established in the early 1970s, a time when a series of large fire were occurring. Fire insurance with special provisions of bodily injury liability was adopted and became preventive tools to prevent disasters and restore damages.

The scope of work extended from fire to other various disasters, and KFPA tried its best to be one of the world’s leading comprehensive risk management organization.

KFPA focus on large specific buildings that would cause bigger damages to not only death or injuries but property losses in case of fire.

Our disaster prevention engineers conduct safety inspections using the latest devices to diagnose various disaster risk factors, and to allow building owners and builders to make improvements

KFPA also checks whether the building has signed onto Fire insurance with special provisions of bodily injury & property damage liability and have this information presented to the building owners, etc.

Also, we provide comprehensive risk management services.

Furthermore, we provide non-life insurance companies basic data and various underwriting informations required in signing up for an appropriate insurance policy.

In addition, we provide disaster prevention consulting using safety inspection technology to businesses that need advanced disaster prevention technology when designing new buildings or high risk, so that customers can effectively prepare for various disasters such as fire.

KFPA works to globalize prevention technology and scientize the non-life insurance industry through its affiliated institution, Fire Insurers Laboratories of Korea, and perform disaster prevention testings, technology researches and quality certification services to improve the quality of firefighting products, disaster prevention facilities and building materials.

Also, the request for agency testing by overseas accredited institutions such as the UK, Japan, the United States, France and Germany is increasing in recognition of the technology and credibility of our research institute.

KFPA has established and operated the Korean Fire Safety Standards(KFS), a private disaster prevention standard and have collected, analyzed and provided the latest risk management technology informations to affiliations.

We study various disasters including fire.

In addition, the future safety inspection model is created preemptively to strengthen the capacity in dealing and managing various disaster risk management including fire.

And actively promote preventive services by conducting fire cause investigations in order to prevent similar repeated fire accidents in the future.

KFPA is striving to create disaster safety culture that is deeply rooted within the people’s daily lives through various campaigns

We present a certificate of recognition to specific buildings that have high risk management levels for fire in order for our society to be enforced with more safety.

Through our specialized safety education programs that consider both the characteristics of safety associates and ordinary persons, we ensure that people know how to act in case of disasters.

Lastly, through volunteer activities for fire safety we make sure to bring hope and light of safety to the areas that are more vulnerable to fires.
